Pete's Log: just another weekend in Munich

Entry #1692, (Life in General)
(posted when I was 31 years old.)

Miles organized a bike trip to Kloster Andechs on Saturday morning. Eight of us, including Tony and Cobus biked the 50 km there. We got off to a slow start since nobody knew the best way to get there and so four people were using map apps on their phone, which meant there were four different ideas on which way to go. But we made it. It took about three and a half hours.

At Andechs we had lunch and a few beers. We then biked down the few km to Herrsching where we jumped into the Ammersee to cool off. We came up with the brilliant idea of bringing beers into the lake with us. Then we took the S-Bahn home.

Sunday I was happy to wake up not sore. I guess riding 20km to work every day last week helped. After a lazy morning, Tony and I biked to the English Garden to hang out with some people before playing Frisbee. Frisbee was great, despite the heat. Then to cool down, we floated down the Eisbach a few times. Even in 30C+ weather, the Eisbach still lives up to its name.

The weekend was finished up at the Hirschau beergarden, watching the world cup final.

I love Munich in the summer.
