Pete's Log: more news from England

Entry #1619, (Life in General)
(posted when I was 30 years old.)

The UK continues to be wintry. The small (by my standards) amounts of snow that fell on Thursday and Friday led to the office being basically abandoned on Friday. And I was amused to learn that England is actually running out of road salt and is having emergency shipments of the stuff sent from Spain and Germany.

I think I should move to Vermont, religious differences be damned. :P

Saturday I travelled into London and met up with my cousin Nathan. He's in London on a six month work program. It was good to see him. I can't remember having seen him since Spring Break 2001. If I did, then I didn't take good notes.

We visited a pub and caught up. We also tried to get to a club with a bunch of his friends, but just missed the no cover cutoff. So instead we wandered aimlessly for a while and then watched Mean Girls at the hostel Nathan lives at. I can't believe I considered myself to have lived before I saw this movie.

Wait, never mind, I can.

I bought a Wired magazine for the train ride from London back to Great Missenden. I'd forgotten how thin Wired has become. It used to be so satisfyingly thick. It was sad.
