Pete's Log: german is silly

Entry #1558, (Random Crap)
(posted when I was 29 years old.)

I constantly type in IP addresses wrong when people tell them to me in German. The problem is that Germans say two-digit numbers backwards. E.g. 72 is zweiundsiebzig - two and seventy.

So to properly type along, you have to cache the last digit and wait for the tens digit, type that, then type the cached ones digit.

This reverse digit order doesn't cause me nearly as many problems in other areas, but for some reason, with IP addresses, it really messes me up. I am slowly improving, though.
